What Talalla provides during your stay
Programmes are run by the visiting teacher, but the day-to-day stay is hosted by Talalla. Here is what every guest receives, regardless of which retreat you join.
Included
- Accommodation in your selected room tier (single, twin or upgrade)
- Three meals a day from the in-house kitchen, plus tea and fresh fruit
- Use of both shalas (subject to teacher’s schedule), pool, beach and lounge
- Welcome briefing and ongoing reception support during your stay
- Filtered water, reusable bottles and toiletries in every room
- Airport transfer (when arranged with your retreat host)
Not Included
- Ayurveda spa treatments (available to book on arrival)
- Surf lessons (available through Talalla Surf)
- Alcohol and off-menu meals
- Anything not specifically listed in the teacher’s programme

Frequently asked questions
Do I book through Talalla or through the teacher?
All visiting retreats are booked directly with the host. Each retreat card links to the organiser’s booking page or brochure. The Talalla reception team is not able to take bookings or answer programme questions on behalf of visiting teachers.
What’s included when I book a visiting teacher retreat at Talalla?
Accommodation, three meals a day from our in-house kitchen, and use of the shalas, pool, beach and lounge areas. Ayurveda spa treatments, alcohol and surf lessons are not included unless your host has added them to the programme.
Where is Talalla Retreat located?
Talalla is on the south coast of Sri Lanka, at Sampaya House, Talalla South, Gandara. The nearest international airport is Colombo (CMB), roughly a 2.5 to 3 hour drive south.
How many people can a retreat host at Talalla?
Small group retreats of 8 to 12 work best. The property can comfortably host groups of up to around 44 guests across the different room tiers. Larger enquiries are welcome.
Can I host my own retreat at Talalla?
Yes. Talalla welcomes visiting yoga, Pilates, breathwork and wellness teachers throughout the year. Visit our Host a Retreat page or contact us to discuss available dates and facilities.
Is Talalla suitable for solo travellers?
Yes. Many guests on visiting retreats arrive solo. Group settings are friendly and the small group sizes make it easy to connect. Single rooms are available across most retreats.
