Growing up in the warm waters of Reunion Island, Angelique knows just how therapeutic life in the tropics can be. A surfer since her teens, she first encountered yoga after moving to Perth, Western Australia, where she went on to complete an intensive 1,000 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Jean Byrne. Angelique is a dedicated Ashtangi who has practiced in Mysore; she also teaches creative, dynamic Vinyasa Flow classes and gentler Hatha, with additional areas of specialization including Yin and Prenatal yoga. Her fun, positive style of teaching is intended to make yoga accessible to all levels of students— even stiff surfers! firstname.lastname@example.org

Our retreat dates will usually stay the same however if you would like to come one day early and leave one day early for example you are welcome to join the group class as part of the retreat package price however no morning meditation and pranayama will be conducted. This will also have to fit in with Talalla Retreat accommodation availability.

If I join the casual classes as well, is there an extra charge? The retreat yoga sessions are group classes so the all Talalla guests are welcome to join, they run twice a day 7:30am and 4:30pm. If you are booked in for a retreat these classes are part of your package price.
Does the yoga during the week follow a set pattern i.e. alignment day 1, then balance day 2 etc? This depends on the group and the teacher, if there is a request for this structure than we are happy run the retreat in this way.
I’ve never done yoga before, can I join? Yes.
I am a yoga teacher at home, is this right for me? As you know a teacher never stops learning so I am sure you will enjoy the retreat however it is important that you realise all level of students join these retreats.

Whats the best time of year to practice yoga? Sri Lanka is warm all year round and our Shala is beautifully positioned so you can enjoy the elements. Any time of year is ideal here…
How far in advance do I need to book? It is better to book sooner rather than later to secure your spot!
How do I book? Via the website is ideal this way you can specify that you are here for the Yoga Retreat.
Whats the difference between the retreat and casual classes? Casual classes run twice a day as do retreat classes however if you join the retreat you also have daily meditation and pranayama classes and two afternoon workshops, one massage, airport transfers and a package price for food and accommodation.
