Wendy has been on her own journey with yoga for the last 11 years, studying with Lyengar and Ashtanga yoga teachers from the UK, India and the US as well as Hatha yoga teachers in Sri Lanka and Australia.

After qualifying in 2006 with teacher Nicky Knoff in Cairns, Australia, to teach foundation yoga, she went onto to further training with Nicky in 2007 studying to teach intermediate yoga, pregnancy yoga and yoga therapy. Wendy now qualifies under Yoga Alliance with 500 hours Teacher Training. The training led her to teach initially in the Northeast of England but after a couple of years decided to take a different approach to her teaching and now teaches intensive workshops and retreats all over the world making regular residencies in Goa and Ibiza at Ibiza Yoga.

Further study with Ashtanga teachers in Mysore and workshops with international yoga teachers such as Mathew Sweeney and Michael Gannon has led her to incorporate much of the Ashtanga style in an eclectic vinyasa class which includes the discipline of alignment and creativity extending beyond the primary series. The emphasis is to connect the body and breath in fluid and powerful motion. Further exploring pranayama and meditation techniques Wendy has a deep understanding of the breath and the importance of expansion and conservation of prana within the body. Wendy is able to teach students who have no or little understanding of yoga, taking them through the basics of practice and also provides challenging classes to those who already have a regular practice.

'As a teacher it is important to also be a student. On a personal level I am constantly amazed and reassured of all that yoga continues to reveal to me as I travel on my own path. In the same way, the more I learn I feel the more enthusiasm I gain and that this enables me to pass on the wisdom I have picked up to my students. In return I am constantly learning from each student I meet. I am fortunate to be able to travel the world and meet such a diverse set of people that the challenges and joy this brings is an important aspect to my yoga practice and teaching'.
